What is the search syntax for advanced queries?
zur Deutschen Version
Bing (https://www.bing.com)
We recommend working with specific syntax to get the best possible search results on the "Discover"-page.
Important Hint: If your search query consists of multiple words, the system will turn this into an AND expression.
The search query "Apple Pair" returns results that contain the keyword "Apple" as well as the keyword "Pair". This expression is therefore equivalent to the expression "Apple AND Pair". If you are looking for results that contain EITHER "Apple" or "Pair" you have to concatenate these expressions using "OR" ("Apple OR Pair").
You can use the following operators in the search box
Description | Example | Further clarification and examples |
---|---|---|
Precise word order by use of quotation marks | "Service public" | Without the quotation marks the search engine will seach for "Service" and "public" individually. |
Connection with (OR) | Schweiz OR Suisse | Only search results which cointain the words "Schweiz" OR "Suisse". |
Connection with (AND) | Schweiz AND Zürich | Only search results which cointain the word "Schweiz" in combination with "Zürich". |
Article title restrictions | intitle:"Service public" | Keywords should (or shouldn’t) appear in the article title. |
